Remarks

Words from childhood, these pieces are “positives” Remember the saying “words can never hurt me” well these words are repairing words, good can come from a sad place.

Rachels’ initial research for the exhibition Silver began during the start of lockdown and her work is intrinsically linked to the poem and the emotional undercurrents of that period in her life.

Time was spent in reflection and the cycle of life, the family bonds and the past that binds us.

Rachel was drawn to the words “entwining strings” the threads and connections that pull emotionally, physically and spiritually- these can be suffocating but alternatively liberating, “as the sun reveals tendrils of morning, a new day”
